8 months ago through a work injury to my shoulder, I became a Workcover statistic and thanks to our state government am now losing 20% of my pay.Sadly at a time of my life when I should be comfortable I am very restricted now in the financial aspect of my life.My heart goes out to families in this same situation,there have been suicides through this,families losing their homes and those requiring food parcels to survive, a disgusting situation to be put in while our fat pollies feed off our taxes and get richer and fatter.Discrimination what else can you call it and degradation for those who went to work one day and arrived home injured.Now my employer has been paying workcover payments for 10 years for me, more than ample I would have thought, to look after me financially now and add to that you also lose your work superannuation payments as well.
At 6 months I asked to see a specialist as all was not right with my shoulder, no it definately was not.The shoulder was still impinged and a rotator cuff tear showed up on the MRI, which had not shown in the original Ultrasound.So here I am 10 days after my operation in a sling for 6 weeks and a further 4-5 month recovery right back at the start.At least I can use my left arm to keep me on the computer for short spurts to fill in time,cos theres not a lot else to do.
